KT shared AI-based medical services and hospital management innovation plans with officials from major hospitals nationwide.
KT said on Oct. 21 it held the 'KT AXis: Medical 2026' seminar at the Courtyard by Marriott Seoul Botanic Park in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. About 60 hospital officials from across the country attended, including from tertiary general hospitals and regional hub public hospitals.
The seminar introduced the 'medical standardisation model' unveiled by KT on Oct. 1 and shared AI transformation (AX) plans tailored to each medical institution's environment. The medical standardisation model integrates everything from telecommunications and cloud infrastructure to a medical data platform and AI services.
At the seminar, Dae-sung Jang (장대성), an executive director at KT Enterprise, presented the model's components and strategies for use. Jong-won Choi (최종원), a KPMG partner, then introduced domestic medical AX market trends and innovation cases at leading hospitals.
KT also showcased major AI services that can be used in medical settings. Its medical data platform standardises and links dispersed in-hospital information, including electronic medical records, medical images and test and research data, to provide a foundation for using AI. Its operating room schedule agent supports operating room management by linking surgery schedules with bed and staffing status.
It also introduced an 'AI patient assistant' to support patient consultation tasks. Using an AI voice bot, it responds to patient inquiries 24 hours a day and supports guidance on departments based on symptoms, appointment booking and post-treatment guidance.
KT plans to use the seminar as an opportunity to support the introduction of AX at hospitals based on the medical standardisation model. It plans to strengthen cooperation focused on building a foundation for using medical data and applying AI agents to real work tasks.
Jang said, "By modularising and providing verified functions through the medical standardisation model, we will support hospitals so they can selectively adopt the services they need and 추진 medical AX more quickly and efficiently."
