Cable TV responsible for broadcast access for one-third of South Koreans, strong universal service role

He said cable TV provides low-cost live broadcasting and supports broadcast access for one-third of South Koreans, giving it a strong universal service character. He cited declining revenues and profits for system operators since 2013 alongside rising content fees.

Routine inquiries will be handled automatically to reduce workloads, allowing staff to focus on on-site responses and complex complaints.

OpenAI is preparing to introduce “inference residency” in South Korea so Korean users’ AI inference computing is handled at domestic data centres. OpenAI Korea chief Kim Kyung-hoon said the company is discussing securing GPUs and cloud infrastructure with several local partners and expects to offer the service in the near term. OpenAI already supports data residency in Korea, but some data can move overseas during inference.
