[DigitalToday reporter Seulgi Son] The Broadcast Media Communications Commission said on Sept. 15 it bought agricultural and livestock products at a traditional market ahead of the Chuseok holiday and delivered them to a child welfare facility.
Chairman Kim Jong-cheol (김종철) visited Bakdal Market in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province, near the Government Complex Gwacheon. He bought fruit, meat and rice cakes and heard merchants' difficulties.
The purchased items were delivered to the child welfare facility "Anyang's House". The head of the commission's civil servants' labor union also joined and expressed thanks for the efforts of facility officials.
Money voluntarily raised each month by commission staff was used for the sharing activity. The commission has also continued social contribution activities such as support for single-parent families and briquette support.
Kim said, "We will continue our sharing activities to coexist with local communities and fulfill our social responsibility."
