[DigitalToday reporter Seulgi Son] Physical AI company RealWorld said on Sunday it signed a business agreement with CJ Logistics to develop and commercialise a logistics-focused robotics foundation model (RFM).

The two companies will combine RealWorld's RFM and physical AI software technology with CJ Logistics' on-site logistics and operating infrastructure to jointly develop an RFM solution to be applied to logistics processes.

They will first select the logistics processes to which the RFM will be applied and verify core actions through technical validation. They then plan to expand the applicable processes and technology level in stages and pursue commercialisation of logistics as a service (LaaS).

LaaS is a model in which companies use logistics functions as a service, including order processing and storage, picking and packing, delivery, returns and data analysis, without directly building logistics centres, transport networks or automation equipment.

RealWorld is developing an RFM focused on the precise manipulation capabilities of humanoid robots. Its proprietary model, RealDexOne, is a physical AI model that enables robots to recognise their surroundings based on vision and sensor information and judge and carry out actions suited to the work situation.

The companies will also pursue joint overseas business based on technology and operational experience secured at domestic logistics sites. They plan to link RealWorld's global partner network with CJ Logistics' commercialisation capabilities to seek joint market entry and strategic cooperation.

RealWorld CEO Joonghee Ryu (류중희) said, "We will solve problems at real logistics sites by combining CJ Logistics' on-site logistics and operating capabilities with RealWorld's RFM and physical AI technology, and expand this to the global market."
