KAWPI to discuss national strategy direction for \'post-sovereign AI\'

The Korea Association of World Politics and Information (KAWPI) will hold its third Global Digital Forum on Sept. 8 at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, focusing on “post-sovereign AI” and the future direction of South Korea’s national AI strategy. Co-organised with the Center for Future Warfare Studies, the forum will review AI use in the private and public sectors amid the spread of generative and agent AI. It will also examine the status and challenges of “sovereign AI 2.0.”

AI for Everyone service to launch this year, led by SKT, KT and Kakao

South Korea selected SK Telecom, KT and a Kakao consortium as operators for the nationwide “AI for Everyone” project, the science ministry said on Thursday. The consortiums will use their lead organisations’ strengths to launch public-facing AI services this year. Evaluations reviewed model and service competitiveness, GPU use and infrastructure plans, plus convenience, user acquisition strategies, quality and safety. The ministry plans contracts in September, a beta service and formal launch this year.

KT unveils \'Everyone\'s AI\' blueprint to bring domestic AI into daily life

KT presented a nationwide AI model applying a range of AI technologies and services, aiming to expand AI into daily life by joining forces with major domestic AI companies. KT said it will build an app- and web-based general-purpose service called \'Everyone\'s AI\' through a consortium with local AI firms. The platform will connect a general AI agent with public and sector-specific services, and apply related functions across existing services and channels.
