Hana Financial Convergence Technology Institute, an internal independent company of Hana Financial TI, developed an artificial intelligence (AI) foundation model specialised for financial work with Saltlux. It plans to apply it to on-the-ground financial tasks such as corporate lending, internal controls and counselling support to broaden the scope of AI use.
Hana Financial Convergence Technology Institute said on Tuesday it developed the finance-focused AI foundation model in-house with AI specialist Saltlux.
The newly developed model is trained mainly on functions needed for financial work, including understanding financial documents, searching work-related knowledge, question-and-answer and document summarisation.
Saltlux, which took part in the joint development, is an AI company that has its own large language model (LLM) called Lucia. Hana Financial Convergence Technology Institute implemented an AI model that can be used in financial workplaces through cooperation with Saltlux.
The model is designed to provide generative AI services with fewer infrastructure resources than existing general-purpose models. The company expects it can offer services tailored to financial work while reducing the burden of AI service operating costs.
Hana Financial Convergence Technology Institute plans to apply the model first to major financial tasks such as corporate lending, internal controls and counselling support. It also plans to expand its use later to an AI search service for customers.
Hae Hana Financial Convergence Technology Institute head said, "We will apply the finance-focused AI foundation model to key tasks across the group and continue to advance it."
