KT said on Tuesday it will work with domestic AI companies and institutions to participate in a government call for proposals for the 'AI for Everyone' project.

KT said the proposal is based on the direction of 'AI benefits for everyone, together with South Korea's AI'. It aims to help all citizens use AI services that are easy and trustworthy.

KT's consortium includes AI service companies closely tied to daily life, as well as domestic AI model and platform firms and AI infrastructure companies. The goal is to build a stable foundation for AI services by combining each company's expertise with KT's telecommunications, cloud and AI operations capabilities.

KT, the lead company, will establish a stable base for AI service operations based on its experience in telecommunications and cloud, AI platforms and large-scale service operations.

Participants in the AI service area include Daum, Saltlux, Musinsa, Zigbang, ConnectWave, Mathpresso, EBS, BC Card and DeepSearch. These companies will be responsible for developing and expanding AI services linked to daily life, including search, shopping, housing, education and finance.

Participants in the AI model and platform area include Upstage, Motif Technologies, NC AI and ActionPower. It plans to expand the base for using models and platform technologies of domestic AI companies and support the implementation of various AI services. Participants in the AI infrastructure area include RavelUp, Rebellion and Vessel AI Korea.

KT said it plans to raise public access to AI and ease of use through cooperation with participating companies. It also aims to contribute to expanding the areas where domestic AI technologies and services are applied and to revitalising the AI ecosystem.

Jin-hyung Lee (이진형), an executive director and head of KT's AX Business Division, said, "We will combine the capabilities of domestic AI companies with KT's telecommunications and AI operations capabilities to prepare stable and reliable South Korea AI services."
