KT presented a nationwide AI model that applies a range of AI technologies and services. It aims to spread AI into people’s daily lives by joining forces with leading domestic AI companies.

KT said on Aug. 27 it will build an app- and web-based general-purpose service called 'Everyone's AI' through a consortium formed with domestic AI companies.

'Everyone's AI' is built around a general AI agent that understands a user’s questions and purpose. It links that agent with a public AI agent and specialised AI services by field, including education, finance, shopping and housing.

The KT consortium plans to build the 'Everyone's AI' app as its core platform. It also plans to apply related functions to the general search portal Daum, services run by participating companies, and KT Genie TV. The aim is for users to access the same AI functions through services they already use without using a separate app.

The consortium includes service and platform companies such as Daum, Musinsa, Zigbang, EBS, Mathpresso, BC Card, ConnectWave, DeepSearch and Saltlux. KT explained that the combined scale of service touchpoints held by these companies exceeds 60 million.

'Everyone's AI' will apply a personalised memory function that, based on user consent, remembers interests, schedules and ongoing tasks. Using Daum’s search capabilities, it supports everything from finding up-to-date information to search, recommendations, personalisation and links to specialised services.

For example, if a small business owner asks about reasons for a recent sales decline and policies that can provide support, it analyses market and consumer information to present causes and directions for improvement. It then provides guidance on related support policies, eligibility, required documents and procedures.

It will also use multiple domestic AI models and infrastructure technologies. The service will apply Upstage's Solar, Motif Technologies' Motif, Saltlux's LUXIA, NC AI's VARCO and KT's Mi-deum, as well as Rebellions' domestic neural processing unit (NPU) and graphics processing unit (GPU) operation optimisation technologies from Rableup and Vessel AI.

KT plans to use each model’s different strengths, such as Korean-language ability, reasoning, long-form understanding, specialised knowledge and multimodal capabilities, depending on users’ tasks.

It plans to expand 'Everyone's AI' into a market and growth platform for South Korea’s AI ecosystem. It will encourage additional participation by competitive domestic AI models, agents and specialised services, and will also expand GPU resource support, investment and business cooperation for domestic AI companies.

It will also use offline channels such as KT's nationwide distribution network and IT supporter groups. It will support AI use by digitally vulnerable groups and strengthen accessibility features such as large text, simple mode, voice input and output, and multilingual support.

Jin-hyung Lee (이진형), managing director and head of KT’s AX Business Division, said, "We will expand AI across the various services people use and connect them to the AI and specialised services they need, no matter when or where they start." He said, "The more people use AI, the more South Korea’s AI ecosystem will grow together."
