IonQ unveils sixth-generation quantum computer, targets customer deliveries in 2027 amid bitcoin security debate

IonQ unveiled its sixth-generation quantum computer, the 256-qubit Superion 256, and began taking orders, with customer deliveries planned for 2027. Genians named KOSDAQ Rising Star for fourth straight year

South Korean cybersecurity firm Genians said on Aug. 13 it was selected for the Korea Exchange-hosted 2026 KOSDAQ Rising Star programme for a fourth straight year. It submitted its Genian NAC network access control solution in the cybersecurity category and received high scores across quantitative and qualitative evaluations. The selection will provide a package of support such as personnel, funding and consulting to strengthen global capabilities.

Vitalik Buterin changes Ethereum roadmap priorities, raises focus on quantum resistance

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin (비탈릭 부테린) said he released a revised version of his 2023 Ethereum roadmap and raised the priority of quantum safety. He overlaid the earlier roadmap on the Ethereum Foundation’s latest layer-1 Strawmap to show items that remained and those whose priority changed. The Strawmap lays out upgrades across consensus, data and execution layers and sets five end goals, including a post-quantum L1. Buterin also proposed EIP-8288 in June 2026, and the foundation formed a post-quantum security team targeting 2029.
