KT said on Wednesday it held 2026 AID-X Day to share AI transformation (AX) innovation results and technology development experience.
The event was held for two days from Oct. 14 at KT's Pangyo building. It combined the existing AID-X Demo Day and AX Tech Connect to share AX innovation cases and research and development results from KT and its group affiliates. The event consisted of exhibits and presentation sessions across four areas — business, innovation, work and technology — and an AI hackathon.
In the business area, KT presented cases of data analysis and customer experience improvements using AI. KT's data analysis platform, MAGMA BI/DW, searches and analyses data and creates dashboards using only natural-language questions. The event also introduced technology that uses AI to analyse customer app reviews and consultation content. It cuts analysis work that previously took about 8 hours to within 10 minutes.
In the innovation area, KT unveiled AI technologies for manufacturing, logistics and mobility. Exhibits included a Robot Skill Flywheel that accumulates humanoid robots' work experience and learns new tasks, a Maintenance and Warranty AX Agent Pack that predicts the possibility of vehicle failures, and an urban air mobility traffic control support platform.
In the work area, KT introduced AX Works, which allows employees to develop and share AI agents directly. It also presented technology that links screen planning to design and code generation using AI. KT explained that projects applying the technology reduced development time by about 30 percent, from 9 months to 6 months.
In the technology area, KT unveiled AI-based security vulnerability diagnostics and abnormal transaction detection technology, and next-generation network technology including 6G and quantum security. KT also shared major R&D results including KT-Klo, a personalised expert agent applied to Everyone's AI, its in-house AI model called Mideum K 3.0, and a next-generation voice agent.
In the presentation sessions, KT introduced trial and error and improvement experience from adopting AI in actual work. It presented build cases including kode, an AI-based software development system jointly developed by KT and KT DS, and a CFO agent that analyses financial data in natural language.
KT also ran an AID-X hackathon in which employees solve problems at work sites using AI. A total of 32 teams, each consisting of three people, took part in the final round and developed AI agents and work automation services.
KT said it plans to spread the technologies and experience shared at the event across the group. It also plans to apply AX results verified internally to customer services and new businesses to accelerate its transformation into an AX platform company.
Ok Kyung-hwa (옥경화), vice president and chief information officer at KT's IT division, said, "An important competitive edge of AX lies in accumulating field-verified experience as organisational capability and spreading it quickly." She said, "We will spread verified AX cases and know-how across the organisation to lead to AX innovation in which customers and employees can feel real change."
