Tesla unveils rare earth-free Cybercab motor; doubts remain over supply chain shift

Tesla said it has fitted Cybercab with a new electric vehicle motor that does not use rare earths. The motor is 18 percent smaller and 25 percent lighter than its existing high-performance drive unit, and is more efficient, according to Electrek. The company has not disclosed the magnet material used. Japan National Police Agency pushes to introduce wearable cameras for frontline officers

Japan is moving ahead with plans to introduce wearable cameras for frontline police officers to record work on scene. The National Police Agency said a pilot confirmed the cameras\' usefulness, including for verifying the appropriateness of actions after the fact and for use in training and investigative evidence. Trials were conducted in Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Aichi, Niigata and Kochi. Officers were mostly positive, while public reactions were mixed.
