Apple is expected to hold a new product launch event on Oct. 28 and showcase updates to major products such as the MacBook Pro and iPad mini.

On Oct. 19 (local time), multiple foreign media outlets including TechRadar reported that Apple released a teaser bearing the phrase "Pro and tell" and plans to hold a media hands-on event in Los Angeles. The event begins at 10 a.m. Pacific time. It is expected to focus more on product experiences than a formal keynote address.

The event became known after Apple marketing chief Greg Joswiak (그렉 조스위악) posted on X, formerly Twitter, saying, "Can’t wait to pro and tell next week." Apple’s official Instagram account "Hello Apple" also posted the same image with the phrase, "About next week…" The teaser features an Apple logo centered on silver, white and blue, mixed with red, orange and yellow.

The most watched product is the MacBook Pro. Observers say Apple could introduce a new design that is thinner and lighter, and add the Mac lineup’s first touchscreen and an OLED display to the 14-inch and 16-inch models.

Some also raise the possibility of using a punch-hole camera and Dynamic Island instead of a notch. The chipset is expected to be the M5 Pro and M5 Max, and some forecasts also suggest another higher-end chipset could be included. The new model could be added as an upper lineup rather than replacing existing products.

Apple may also unveil an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro. It could keep the current model’s exterior and display while adopting an M6 chip to improve overall performance and artificial intelligence work processing, with longer battery life also expected from better power efficiency.

The iMac is also cited as a candidate for an update. Observers expect Apple could apply an M6 chip to the next product and reorganize color options after launching a model with an M4 chip in 2024. Some also suggest it could feature the same 12-core central processing unit, 12-core graphics processing unit and dual 16-core Neural Engine as the M6 Mac mini.

A major overhaul of the iPad mini is also expected. The new model could include an OLED display, an improved speaker system and an upgraded chipset. Some also expect Apple to move the front camera to better suit landscape use and strengthen water resistance. The possibility of a higher price than the current model is also being discussed. Updates to the entry-level iPad remain uncertain.

Apple previously unveiled HomeView, HomePod mini 2 and Apple TV 4K, and has now teased this event. The actual products and detailed specifications have yet to be confirmed, but attention is focused on whether new Mac and iPad products, including a touchscreen MacBook Pro, will appear at the event.
