Ethereum Foundation co-CEO Xiaowei Wang resigns

Xiaowei Wang has stepped down as co-chief executive of the Ethereum Foundation, announcing the decision on X after completing a sabbatical. His resignation adds to a run of departures at the foundation this year, estimated at about 19 cases including layoffs and resignations. Vitalik Buterin said Wang held one of the foundation’s toughest roles. Debate continues over the foundation’s role, decentralisation and long-term development strategy.

Aerodrome, biggest DEX on Base, to overhaul liquidity allocation in July

Aerodrome, the largest decentralised exchange in Coinbase-led layer-2 network Base, will revamp its liquidity allocation system in July. Developer Dromos Labs will replace the existing weekly voting model with a “predictive allocation” mechanism. The new design lets participants allocate capital based on where liquidity will be needed, and rewards more accurate predictions with greater returns. Dromos expects the change to draw professional trading firms and AI agents.

Shibarium daily transactions double in four days

Daily transactions on Shibarium, the Shiba Inu ecosystem’s layer-2 network, doubled in four days, rising from 1,300 on June 10 to 2,600 on June 13, U.Today reported. Transactions increased steadily over that period, suggesting a pickup in network activity. The market remains unconvinced it signals a trend change after repeated spikes since late May that quickly faded.
