[DigitalToday reporter Jinju Hong] Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama has shown little activity on X, formerly Twitter, since May, fuelling continued speculation in the community.

According to blockchain media outlet U.Today on Oct. 25, Kusama's last X post or interaction was on May 13, 2026.

The community's attention has focused less on Kusama's prolonged silence itself than on limited profile changes made during that period. In September 2026, Kusama changed the X bio to "Polish" (refining, in the final stage) and the location to "Close" (imminent, drawing near). Some in the community speculated that a project may have entered its final phase. Kusama did not confirm whether the changes were related to Shiba Inu, an artificial intelligence (AI) plan he is pursuing separately, or other work.

While Kusama remained silent, development in the Shiba Inu ecosystem continued at a low level. Recently, community members and developers have shared updates related to Shibarium infrastructure and the ecosystem.

Long-time community member Mazrael relayed a message from Kal Dhairya in September 2026 and said Shibarium's restructuring was "now resolved". Mazrael added that the remaining step was for DRPC to complete the same transition in the new environment. Mazrael later said in a recent X conversation that Shibarium was still in "rebuild mode". That means the rebuild is not finished, but quiet functional improvements have continued in the layer-2 infrastructure in recent weeks.

Updates also continued. Mazrael said CreateX, a standard factory used to deploy contracts to the same address across multiple chains, began operating on Shibarium. He also said 12 Safe v1.4.1 contracts were all deployed to official addresses through the Safe Singleton Factory. x402 also entered full operation on Shibarium. That allowed AI agents to make payments in SHIB, TREAT and wrapped BONE.

Network connection information was also updated. Shibarium's RPC list was newly reflected in the Ethereum-lists/chains registry, and updated connection information became available on Chainlist. Separately, the official SHIB website and the ShibaSwap page migrated to Cloudflare in September 2026, and IPv6 was added to both services. The previous host is no longer used.

The Shiba Inu community's focus is currently split into two tracks. One is whether Kusama will break his silence on X and explain the direction himself. The other is whether Shibarium, which is in rebuild mode, will complete its infrastructure work and lead to actual ecosystem expansion. With the meaning of "Polish" and "Close" that Kusama left on his profile still unconfirmed, the community is closely watching both the quietly ongoing development progress and official messages.
