The Broadcasting Media Communications Commission reported major policy results in broadcasting, media and telecommunications at a cabinet meeting on Monday, marking the first anniversary of the launch of the People’s Sovereignty government. The commission said it has pursued policies aimed at clearing issues accumulated over two years and realising media sovereignty and a basic society. It cited broadcaster relicensing, decree revisions, measures on public responsibility, handset subsidy rules, World Cup joint broadcasts, platform obligations and home-shopping reforms.

The event will include an explanation of the legislative background and key points, followed by expert discussions and a question-and-answer session. The commission will review forum outcomes and public comments submitted through May 27.
