The Korea Broadcasters Association said on Wednesday it selected 30 winning programmes and 15 individual award recipients for the 53rd Korea Broadcasting Awards.

The association conducted judging of 239 programmes aired over the past year and 60 broadcasters.

Programme award winners include SBS' investigative report "Kim Beom-seok's Kingdom, Tracking the Reality of Coupang," which covered suspected leakage of Coupang personal information and allegations of regulatory evasion, and KBS' two-part "Tracking 60 Minutes - Koreans' Lonely Deaths, a 10-Year Record," which highlighted social isolation and lonely deaths in South Korea.

Other programme award winners include MBC's "Rookie Director Kim Yeon-koung," about former volleyball player Kim Yeon-koung (김연경) taking on a coaching challenge, EBS' "Space Gonggam - Pioneer Series," marking 30 years of indie music, and CBS' "Lyrics That Became Poetry," which dealt with the literary value of song lyrics.

Winners also include KNN's "Nameless (無名), the Tree-Planting Woman," about a woman who planted 1,000,000 trees in Nicaragua, as well as the MBC drama "Judge Lee Han-young" and the SBS entertainment programme "Our Ballad."

The individual award for achievement goes to KBS' Hyungseok Kim (김형석), and the regional broadcasting promotion award goes to TBC's Giung Han (한기웅).

The producer award goes to producer Yurim Park (박유림) for EBS' "Ding Dong Dang, Ding Dong Dang, the Suspicious Broadcasting Station." The writer awards go to writer Kkot-saem Joo (주꽃샘) for EBS' "World Theme Travel" and writer Hyunmin Song (송현민) for MBC's "Rookie Director Kim Yeon-koung."

The announcer award goes to announcer Seoyoon Mok (목서윤) for Jeonju MBC's "Planet Radio." The host award goes to Sook-young Lee (이숙영) for SBS' "Lee Sook-young's Love FM," and the narration award goes to Sun-hee Jung (정선희) for SBS' "TV Animal Farm."

Winners in the best actor and actress categories, best male and female entertainer categories and the singer award will be confirmed on Aug. 5 after viewer voting.

The grand prize will be announced at an awards ceremony on Sept. 3. The ceremony will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the MBC Public Hall in Seoul's Mapo district and will be broadcast live on MBC TV.
