Neowiz selects 5 teams in global indie contest, \'Glass House\' takes top prize

Neowiz said on April 22 it has completed the awards ceremony for its global indie game development contest, Neowiz Indie Quest. The contest ran for about nine months and drew indie teams from South Korea, the United States and China. Glass House took first place, followed by Inari in second. Name of the Will, Hawthorn and Gretel & Hensel were also selected. The five teams shared 165 million won in prize money.

Google adds music generation to Gemini app, supports Korean

Google is adding an AI-based music generation feature to its Gemini app, TechCrunch reported on Feb. 18. The app uses DeepMind’s Lyria 3 model to generate music in a requested style along with lyrics and cover art, and it can also create music to match uploaded photos or videos. Google said Lyria 3 will also power YouTube creators’ Dream Track feature, which is expanding beyond the United States. AI-generated music will include a SynthID watermark.

HPP, Bloko to host HPP AI Game Jam vibe-coding game-making contest

House Party Protocol (HPP) and Bloko will hold a global game-making contest, the HPP AI Game Jam, from Feb. 14. Participants create games using natural-language “vibe coding” via HPP’s NORI hub and post results on X before submitting an application. Winners are chosen by combining X community response and organisers’ evaluations. The top prize pool totals 50,000 HPP, and all participants receive about $10 in development credits.
