Neowiz said on April 22 it has wrapped up the awards ceremony for its global indie game development contest, "Neowiz Indie Quest."

The contest, which ran for about nine months, drew global indie development teams from South Korea, the United States and China. At the ceremony held on April 21 at Neowiz's Pangyo headquarters, Neowiz co-CEO Seung-cheol Kim (김승철), Seong-jun Park (박성준), head of the New Titles Group Development Group, and Brand Director Woo-hyeok Choi (최우혁) attended.

Judges awarded first place to "Glass House." "Inari" took second, and three teams were selected for third place: "Name of the Will," "Hawthorn" and "Gretel & Hensel." The five selected teams received a total of 165 million won in prize money.

A Neowiz official said, "Based on our experience discovering indie games such as 'Skul,' 'Sanabi' and 'Shape of Dreams,' we wanted to provide creators with opportunities." The official added, "We will support indie developers around the world so they can continue making creative attempts."

Neowiz is also working to expand the indie game ecosystem. In November last year, it held "Narrative Game Jam" in collaboration with global game community platform "GameJolt."
