Pearl Abyss is joining a global environmental challenge and will use game content to raise awareness of environmental protection.
Pearl Abyss said on Wednesday that Black Desert Mobile is participating in the global environmental challenge Green Game Jam with adventurers worldwide.
Now in its seventh year, the Green Game Jam is a campaign by Playing for the Planet, a global consultative body supported by the U.N. Environment Programme (UNEP). It aims to raise awareness of environmental protection and sustainability through content from game companies around the world.
The campaign includes 57 global game companies, including Ubisoft's Just Dance 2026 Edition and Rovio Entertainment's Angry Birds Friends. Black Desert Mobile is the only South Korean game taking part. As part of the "Tropical Rainforest Team", the game will run an in-game event that lets players experience the meaning of environmental protection through gameplay.
Players can complete a mission by collecting a "birch seedling pouch" delivered to their mailbox and planting 5 seedlings in their territory before maintenance on June 19. Rewards include an "environmental protection box" containing 20,000 Noble Tears of the Goddess, 3,000 Holy Vials of Light and 1,000 Territory Growth Boxes. Players can also receive an additional 10,000 Breakthrough Restoration Tickets by sharing a screenshot taken against the backdrop of the trees planted in their territory on the official forum.
Alongside the campaign, the game also rolled out updates to improve access to "Eye of the Void", a key growth material. It also added a new boss to "Clash" and overhauled the "Twisted Nightmare: Capital" content to increase combat immersion.
Pearl Abyss plans to continue updates to support adventurers' growth and settlement. It also plans to continue activities to spread social value, including environmental protection, both inside and outside the game.
