KT applies AI ads to Volvo EX90 campaign, brand searches double

KT said on Tuesday it applied its AI and data-based advertising platform to Volvo’s electric EX90 launch campaign, lifting brand search volume and expanding test-drive sign-ups. The campaign linked KT Square, a large media wall in Gwanghwamun, with KT Genie TV’s Premium G package. KT said it offered a dedicated brand page on Genie TV with vehicle information and content, connected QR codes to test-drive applications, and ran targeted ads based on AI-driven data analysis.

KT joins \'I Am Solo Run\' as main sponsor, runs hands-on booths

KT said on Saturday it took part as main sponsor in the \'2026 I Am Solo Run\' marathon held at Yeouido Park in Seoul on May 9. The 10-km event drew about 5,000 participants and was co-hosted by ENA, SBS Plus and Chonjang Entertainment. KT ran an on-site booth featuring hands-on demos of its services and events, and also operated pacemaker helpers and provided giveaways and prizes.

KT fined 640 million won over cancelled Galaxy S25 pre-order event

South Korea\'s Broadcasting Media Communications Commission has fined KT 640 million won for violations of the Telecommunications Business Act during Galaxy S25 pre-orders. The regulator said KT told customers benefits would be available unless a closing notice was posted, but limited the event to the first 1,000 people. It also said KT unilaterally cancelled 7,127 contracts submitted via a YouTuber and Genie TV despite customers completing verification and payment steps.
