KT said on Wednesday it was ranked No. 1 in mobile communications, ultrafast internet and IPTV in this year’s Korea Brand Power Index (K-BPI) survey. KT, which topped all 3 categories, said the award shows it has held the top spot across all categories for the second straight year, demonstrating its competitiveness.
The Korea Brand Power Index is the country’s largest brand survey, conducted by the Korea Management Association since 1999. It selects top brands by surveying awareness, preference and loyalty for domestic brands.
KT said it focused in the mobile segment on subscriber-centered products and expanding events tied to everyday life. It added popular lifestyle benefits such as coffee, convenience stores, shopping and home appliances to the Choice plan, KT Subscription and Yogo. It also launched “My Data, My Way,” reflecting customers’ actual data usage patterns.
It also advanced services that incorporate AI technology. KT set up an AI real-time spam-blocking keyword registration system to respond quickly to spam that occurs the same day, and provides a service that detects voice phishing in three layers.
In the ultrafast internet segment, KT said its GiGA Internet has ranked No. 1 for 26 consecutive years, maintaining market leadership. KT said it is also working to strengthen security and next-generation technology competitiveness. Through Homecam Security and Total Security Internet, it provides an integrated service that protects users from cyber threats such as smishing and malware.
It also introduced KT WiFi 7D, which supports the WiFi 7 standard. KT said WiFi 7D improves performance and user experience with speeds more than twice as fast as before, a built-in antenna and the introduction of design skins.
In IPTV, it said Genie TV has ranked No. 1 for 17 consecutive years. With an LLM-based AI agent, it provides interactive question-and-answer functions on topics ranging from weather, news and daily-life information to current affairs, culture, science and people. It also supports content discovery and personalised recommendations based on plot, scenes and cast.
KT said, “This No. 1 award is the result of recognition for a variety of efforts to improve customer-perceived quality and satisfaction.” It added, “We plan to continue expanding services customers can feel across their daily lives and to actively use AI technology to focus on innovating the customer experience.”
