KT said on Saturday it took part as main sponsor in the '2026 I Am Solo Run' marathon held at Yeouido Park in Seoul on May 9.
The 2026 I Am Solo Run was held on a 10-km course around Yeouido Park and drew about 5,000 participants. It was co-hosted by ENA, SBS Plus and Chonjang Entertainment.
KT ran on-site events through its 'With KT, Lighter GYM' booth for marathon participants as well as customers and members of the public. The booth was set up to let visitors try KT's flagship wired and wireless services: YouTube Premium Lite, Yogo Internet and Genie TV All G.
At the YouTube Premium Lite booth, it ran a long jump event alongside the message, "Only at KT! Light, with no extra charge." At the Yogo Internet booth, visitors could experience fast internet speeds through a speed game based on the concept, "Same quality, lighter fee." At the Genie TV All G booth, it offered a photo experience in which artificial intelligence analyses faces and matches them with an 'I Am Solo' character, centred on the message, "Light, with about 260 channels and about 160,000 VOD titles."
KT also ran pacemaker helpers in its brand colour, red, to help marathon participants finish the race. It gave away sports wrist guards and sports towels to on-site visitors on a first-come, first-served basis. It also offered coffee vouchers, first come, first served, to event participants who finished the race. Those who take part in a social media verification event will later be selected by a draw to receive hotel meal vouchers.
Kim Young-geol (김영걸), head of KT's Customer Business Division and an executive director, said, "In line with the running trend, KT made it easy and fun for customers to experience KT services." He added, "We plan to continue expanding participatory marketing."
