Toss FacePay subscribers top 6 million
Toss said on Monday the cumulative number of subscribers to its facial-recognition payment service FacePay has exceeded 6 million, doubling in three months after topping 3 million in February. Subscribers rose to 4 million in March, 5 million in April and 6 million in May. Toss said repeat usage is rising and that more than 370,000 merchants can accept FacePay via Toss Front terminals as of early June.

Toss expands FacePay offline payment trials with Youngpoong Bookstore
Viva Republica, the operator of South Korean fintech app Toss, is launching a trial event for its facial recognition payment service FacePay. Toss will run a \"FacePay on the Road\" book picnic event with Youngpoong Bookstore at Seoul Forest, where the 2026 Seoul International Garden Show is being held. Visitors can pay 100 won via FacePay to rent a kit, with the event running through May 31 and targeting 1,000 people by reservation.

Toss teams up with Pulmuone Food & Culture to introduce FacePay at highway rest areas
Viva Republica, the operator of Toss, is moving to digitise payment environments at highway rest areas. It plans to introduce FacePay, a face-recognition-based payment service, and expand it to major rest areas nationwide. Toss said on Wednesday it signed an MOU with Pulmuone Food & Culture to improve payment environments. The companies plan to install Toss Front payment terminals and apply Toss FrontCam to existing kiosks.
