Toss Mobile, a telecoms subsidiary of Viva Republica, has launched MVNO plans that combine mobile bill discounts with coupons for the facial-recognition payment service FacePay. Customers can use the plans from 8,000 won a month for 7 months after signing up, and payment coupons are provided for up to 24 months.

Toss Mobile said on Sunday it has launched 5 "FacePay partner plans" based on the LG Uplus network.

A mobile bill discount applies for 7 months from the time of sign-up. From the second month after activation, FacePay coupons worth 2,000 won a month will be provided for up to 24 months. A one-time coupon worth 10,000 won will also be provided after 4 months from activation.

The coupon benefits total up to 58,000 won, combining 48,000 won from 2,000 won a month for 24 months and an additional 10,000 won coupon. Coupon payments continue even after the 7-month discount period ends.

The 5 plans are FacePay 7GB+ at 8,000 won a month, FacePay 10GB+ at 9,000 won a month, FacePay 71GB+ at 9,900 won a month, FacePay 100 minutes·15GB+ at 13,000 won a month, and FacePay 100GB+ at 16,000 won a month. All are promotional prices applied for 7 months after signing up.

The same FacePay coupon benefits apply to all 5 plans. The 4 plans other than FacePay 100 minutes·15GB+ include voice and text as standard and 300 minutes of additional calling.

Eligible customers are new subscribers aged 17 or older or those switching their number.

A Toss Mobile official said: "This is a new attempt designed so customers can feel the benefits in both their monthly mobile bills and daily payments." The official added: "We will continue to come up with ways to help customers meaningfully reduce costs."
