Viva Republica, operator of Toss, is partnering with POS solution company Togethers to sequentially supply its facial payment service, Facepay, to about 5,000 small and midsized marts nationwide.
Toss said on July 27 it signed a business agreement with Togethers on July 24 at Arc Place in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul's Gangnam district.
The agreement is the first business partnership Toss has signed with a distribution POS solution company. The companies plan to apply Toss Pay payments at about 5,000 small and midsized marts nationwide that use Togethers' POS solution, TogetherPOS, and to sequentially install a facial-payment terminal called Toss Front.
The companies also plan to review joint promotions and marketing activities alongside the Facepay rollout. They will also push cooperation measures in stages to help boost merchants' sales by using Toss' advertising and marketing services.
A Toss official said, "Marts are a close-to-home space that customers visit often, making them places where people can experience Facepay in everyday life," adding, "We will expand cooperation with various partners to improve the payment experience."
