BMC appoints Ko Min-su as first vice chair

South Korea\'s Broadcast Media Communications Commission held its 29th plenary meeting on Aug. 21 and elected standing commissioner Ko Min-su as its first vice chair. Ko, born in 1970, studied law at Yonsei University and earned master\'s and doctoral degrees there. He has worked as a reporter and held posts at government bodies, and later taught at Gangneung-Wonju National University and Kangwon National University. His term runs until March 31, 2029.

Crypto exchange UEX.US lists Shiba Inu, adds deposit rewards and collateral loans

U.S. cryptocurrency exchange UEX.US has listed Shiba Inu (SHIB) and launched deposit rewards and collateral-backed loan services. Users can trade SHIB against the stablecoin USDT and major assets, and can also buy the token using PayPal, wire transfers and card payments. The exchange introduced a 4.5 percent annual yield deposit reward from the first day and allows users to borrow up to 90 percent of asset value using SHIB as collateral.

Seodaemun Prison History Museum to unveil hologram exhibit on Yu Gwan-sun from Aug. 15

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Thursday it will unveil a permanent hologram exhibition at Seodaemun Prison History Museum\'s women\'s ward from Aug. 15, Liberation Day. The display uses AI to restore old photos of independence activist Yu Gwan-sun and other female independence fighters and render them as 3D holograms. Visitors can view the holograms without separate devices and experience interactive exhibits. Content will fill eight rooms once used to hold female detainees.
