KB Kookmin Bank said it will fully compensate customers if damage occurs from leaked information involving 119 customers.
The bank said on Thursday the leaked information differs by customer and includes customer names, phone numbers, addresses and encrypted resident registration numbers.
KB Kookmin Bank said it blocked the server and access route immediately after recognising a possible leak late on Sept. 30 through abnormal external access.
It individually notified customers whose information was leaked of the breach and how to prevent secondary damage.
To handle damage reports and related inquiries, it is also operating a dedicated counselling centre separately from its main call centre.
KB Kookmin Bank said it plans to fully compensate customers if the leak causes damage.
KB Kookmin Bank said, "To prevent additional damage and a recurrence, we are inspecting the entire related process and have also activated a company-wide emergency response system."
