Vice Chair Ha Jung-woo visits Daegu manufacturing AX sites, checks robots and mobility

The presidential National AI Strategy Committee said its standing vice chair, Ha Jung-woo, visited Daegu on Oct. 21 to inspect artificial intelligence transformation (AX) sites in manufacturing, robotics and mobility. Ha attended the opening of FIX 2026 at Daegu EXCO and toured an AI-based process innovation simulation center supporting small and midsize firms. He also reviewed manufacturing AX applied to cathode active material production at L&F Plus. He is set to visit Pohang on Oct. 22.

Nvidia unveils investment plan in Germany; Merz urges companies to open the door to AI

Nvidia has unveiled plans to invest in four German startups as it moves to expand artificial intelligence investment in Europe, CNBC reported. The company said it would support Agile Robots, Avelios Medical, Mirelo AI and Reflex Aerospace, without disclosing the investment size. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called on companies, including small and midsized firms, to open their data to AI. CEO Jensen Huang said AI would strengthen Germany’s industrial competitiveness.

South Korea to back physical AI commercialisation via National Growth Fund, expand long-term investment

South Korea plans a support system linking physical AI technology development, on-site demonstrations and private investment, using fiscal spending and the National Growth Fund. The government set next year’s physical AI budget at 3.1 trillion won, more than triple this year’s 900 billion won. The Financial Services Commission will expand long-term investment and offer funding via direct and indirect investment, infrastructure finance and ultra-low-interest loans. Ministries also outlined new projects for core technology, logistics trials, training infrastructure, manufacturing adoption and sector-specific pilots.
