Ruling, opposition parties agree on 26.2 trillion won extra budget, keep aid plan for bottom 70 percent by income

South Korea's ruling and opposition parties agreed on April 10 to keep the government's 26.2 trillion won supplementary budget while adjusting some projects. They decided to maintain the government plan to pay up to 600,000 won per person to those in the bottom 70 percent by income under a high oil price relief programme. The parties agreed to add funds for K-Pass discounts, naphtha supply stabilisation and several fuel-linked subsidies, and planned a late-night vote.
