Spotify has launched a beta feature that lets users save and listen to personal podcasts generated by AI agents within its app, TechCrunch reported on Wednesday.
Developers using tools such as OpenAI Codex, Anthropic Claude Code and OpenClaw can use Spotify’s new CLI tool to generate podcasts and save them directly to Spotify. The generated podcasts are saved to a user’s Spotify library and are not made available to other users.
Spotify said, "Users have already started using agents to create personal audio content. It ranges from summarising class notes before an exam to schedule briefings." It added, "They want a way to listen to it on Spotify."
The process can be summarised as follows. Users download the CLI tool from a GitHub page and log in to their Spotify account through a browser. They then enter a prompt such as, "Create an audio session that covers in depth the key players, host venues and major matches I need to know about at this year’s World Cup," and the agent generates a podcast and saves it to Spotify. A Spotify link to the generated podcast is also provided.
