Financial investment industry joins energy-saving push with car use rotation and more remote work

South Korea\'s financial investment industry is stepping up energy-saving efforts in response to global energy supply-demand imbalances and rising prices. The Korea Financial Investment Association said securities firms, asset managers and other financial investment companies are participating. Measures include rotating car use, encouraging public transport, expanding remote work and flexible commuting systems. Companies are also cutting building power use by adjusting elevator and HVAC hours and switching off lights outside working hours.

JobKorea and Albamon say 65,000 apply for Dongdaemun Yeopgi Tteokbokki tasting intern event

JobKorea and Albamon, operated by WorkSpear, said on Thursday that an April Fool’s novelty job posting event run with Dongdaemun Yeopgi Tteokbokki attracted more than 65,000 applicants. The companies promoted large-scale virtual postings to recruit “YeopTteok tasting interns” and “YeopTteok tasting Albamon” workers, using a concept of hiring 2,000 people. They said the campaign set a record for applicants among their novelty posting events, with competition at about 33 to 1.

Bitcoin fails again to break $80,000 as U.S.-China AI tensions return

Bitcoin traded around the $78,000 level but again failed to break above the key resistance level of $80,000, as renewed tension between the United States and China dented risk appetite in the cryptocurrency market. The White House stepped up its stance on AI, while on-chain indicators pointed to resistance near $76,800. In derivatives, Deribit’s $80,000 call options held the largest share, with a notional value of $1.78 billion.
