KakaoGames said on Oct. 19 it held "Dagachi Green Day - Han River Otter Conservation Trip with Family" on Oct. 18 at the Jungnangcheon Environmental Center in Nowon district, Seoul, with employees and their families taking part.

About 30 people joined the event, including CEO Kim Tae-hwan and employees and their children. Experts from WWF and the Jungnangcheon Environmental Center provided environmental education on otters, the Han River ecosystem and biodiversity conservation.

Participants later made seed balls using purple loosestrife and reed seeds, and joined hands-on activities such as decorating mood lights themed on otters.

The programme is part of KakaoGames' employee participation environmental campaign, "Dagachi Green Day", which it has run since 2022. The company held a "black-faced spoonbill conservation trip" last year, and organised this year's programme around protecting the habitat of otters, an endangered species.

KakaoGames has also continued game-linked biodiversity donation activities involving users. It ran related donations themed on polar bears in 2023, honeybees in 2024 and black-faced spoonbills in 2025.

This year, it ran a donation event themed on otter protection and delivered 30 million won to WWF.

Cho Jung-yeon (조정연), head of KakaoGames' ESG/VE Office, said, "Through a programme combining environmental education and volunteer activities, we created time for employees and their families to reflect together on the value of biodiversity conservation." Cho said, "We will continue with various eco-friendly campaigns."
