HP pushes AI workstations to cut cloud reliance, expand local computing

HP is positioning so-called agentic AI as a core element of the next workplace and is expanding related hardware and on-device software. The company unveiled new AI PCs and workstation products in Seoul, along with its on-device AI platform, HP IQ. HP said the shift toward AI that understands and executes tasks increases demand for local computing, reducing cloud reliance while strengthening security and performance.

Amazon Web Services will hold the AI and cloud conference AWS Summit Seoul 2026 on May 20-21 at COEX in Seoul. Marking 20 years since the launch of Amazon S3 and 10 years since opening the Seoul region, AWS will review its past two decades and present a vision for the next 20 years led by agentic AI. Agentic AI ecosystem strategy nears release as ministry holds workshop

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT held a workshop on April 27 to discuss an agentic artificial intelligence ecosystem development strategy it plans to release in the first half of the year. Agentic AI refers to AI that understands complex user commands on its own and carries out tasks. The workshop reviewed the direction for the strategy and ways to produce outcomes from the newly launched national Agentic AI Alliance.
