Stanford AI Index to correct South Korea\'s notable model count to 8
South Korea’s tally of notable AI models released in 2025 in Stanford University’s AI Index 2026 report will be corrected to 8 from 5, the Ministry of Science and ICT said on Wednesday. The ministry said Stanford’s Human-Centered AI Institute omitted some models and would make the correction after the ministry requested additional verification. The revised list includes models from Upstage, LG AI Research, NC AI, SK Telecom and Naver Cloud.

NC AI launches Varco-based creator support program
NC AI said on Thursday it is launching a creator support program centered on its generative AI Varco, aiming to build a global creative ecosystem linking creation and content distribution. The program provides participating creators with free credits for five services, including Varco 3D and Varco Sound. Creators selected for outstanding use cases will receive content exposure through global networks and major media, as well as paid marketing support.

NC AI to build Varco Game AI ecosystem with launch incentives, global publishing support
NC AI said on March 13 it is pursuing a strategy to build a virtuous-cycle ecosystem for game development based on its Varco Game AI service, spanning production, market validation and publishing. It plans structured support aimed at small and indie studios, including marketing support in the form of incentives for formally launched titles. Games that show meaningful results will receive deeper market testing support, with potential publishing cooperation with NC after internal review.
