NC AI said on Sunday it will join the government-led K-New Deal Academy programme to foster young talent who hope to enter the games and artificial intelligence content sectors. It plans to provide a foundation for non-majors and long-term unemployed youths to become self-reliant in the game creation ecosystem based on generative AI capabilities.

NC AI will recruit a total of 150 people at three regional hubs outside the Seoul metropolitan area, including Busan, Daejeon and Gwangju, and run a 500-hour training course free of charge. It will start the first cohort in July by selecting 60 people each in Busan and Daejeon and 30 people in Gwangju, and then run a total of 5 cohorts in sequence. Unemployed youths aged 15 to 34 can apply on the NC AI website regardless of their major or coding experience.

K-New Deal Academy is a youth job training programme promoted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and overseen by the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training.

NC AI will provide the full product lineup of its generative AI platform, VARCO, free of charge to all trainees. It will issue commercial service accounts used in actual workplaces so trainees can experience the same work environment from asset generation through development and completion. It also introduced a vibe coding approach that generates code from natural language across the training so non-majors without coding experience can take part in implementing game systems.

NC AI explained it selected Busan and Gwangju, where youth outflows are relatively large, as key hubs. Graduates will receive a portfolio that includes 1 game officially distributed under their own names on game distribution sites such as itch or on Google Play, along with technical documents and a trailer video.

Lee Yeon-soo (이연수), head of NC AI, said, "Based on our experience directly developing AI and applying it to games and content production sites, we will provide an educational environment where non-majors and long-term unemployed youths can create their own content with generative AI."
