SK Shieldus CEO marks 1 year, vows AI-based next-generation security operations

SK Shieldus marked the first anniversary of CEO Minki Sik\'s appointment and disclosed major achievements and its AI-based future business direction. The company said he has focused on strengthening integrated capabilities spanning physical and cyber security as AI changes operations and the security environment across industries. SK Shieldus is expanding the application of AI across security, preparing services such as senior care and unmanned stores, and pursuing an Agentic SOC-based next-generation security operations system.

Google, Naver, Kakao to be required to pre-block illegal filming images from July

The Broadcasting Media and Communications Commission held a briefing session on June 4 to explain measures as preemptive technical and administrative steps to prevent the distribution of illegal filming content expand from video to images. From July 1, about 80 obligated operators must compare and identify whether user posts match videos or images judged as illegal filming content by the Broadcasting Media Deliberation Commission and restrict posting. The list includes Google, X, Meta, Naver and Kakao.

Korean AI chips speed up mass production, commercialisation as MSIT holds growth forum

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT held the K-AI Semiconductor Growth Forum in Seoul on June 4 to share results from domestic AI chip development and discuss growth strategies. About 300 people attended, including government, parliament and industry representatives. The forum presented pilot project cases and export-linked examples, and disclosed progress on the K-Perf performance benchmark. The ministry also outlined plans to expand standards, enhance testing and open a technical support centre in the first half.
