Google targets portal entryway, putting Naver AI search to the test
Google has expanded its AI-enabled browser, Gemini in Chrome, in South Korea, raising a key test for market leader Naver\'s AI response. The update adds in-browser tools such as webpage summaries, cross-tab comparisons, email drafting, image conversion and integrations with Gmail, Maps, Calendar and YouTube. Naver plans to launch an AI tab in the second quarter and aims to link search with its vertical services, including shopping, places and payments, while managing rising GPU-related infrastructure costs.

Tesla completes design of AI5 chip as U.S. presses automakers on war preparedness
The United States is stepping up a wartime response posture, adding pressure on the auto industry. The Pentagon has contacted top executives at major automakers such as GM and Ford to sound out slowing some EV output and expanding weapons and military supplies production. Separately, Ford’s CEO warned about Chinese EVs and the company reshuffled its organisation. Volkswagen accelerated battery work, while Tesla completed its AI5 chip design and updated its FSD app amid complaints over HW3 limits.

Review: Naver shopping AI agent offers thin service despite vast data
A reporter who tested Naver’s Shopping AI Agent 1.0 said the conversational recommendation service struggled to find a desired gaming laptop as conditions were refined. Recommendations repeatedly reverted to earlier picks, drifted to non-gaming models or produced error responses. The agent is in beta and currently limited to digital appliances, living and subscription categories. Naver said it does not prioritise advertising products and plans to expand into beauty and food categories in the first half.
