MSIT to expand global research talent recruitment, strengthen settlement support
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT will expand support to attract overseas science and technology talent. The ministry said it selected new projects for its 2026 Overseas Outstanding Scientist Attraction Programme (BP/BP+) under the \"Brain to Korea\" initiative. The initiative aims to recruit 2,000 global talents by 2030. The selection includes 85 individual-recruitment projects and 5 institutional-recruitment projects, with support for costs such as salaries, stay expenses and research funding.

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said it has laid the groundwork for the country to become one of the world’s top three AI powers over the past year, alongside restoring the R&D ecosystem and guaranteeing basic communications rights. The ministry also plans to roll out “AI for Everyone” starting as early as November, aiming to keep it free through 2028.
