South Korea to step up drive to recruit Korean scientists in Europe with event in France
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT is seeking to recruit Korean scientists and engineers working in Europe. The ministry said it will hold a talent recruitment event in Toulouse, France, on July 21 in connection with the 2026 Korea-Europe Conference on Science and Technology. Government ministries, public agencies, universities, research institutes and companies will take part, offering consultations on hiring plans and researcher support. The ministry will also pilot an online platform from July 21.

MSIT selects lead universities to drive innovation in STEM education
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity selected lead institutions for two university education innovation programmes to strengthen science and engineering students\' practical problem-solving and basic maths and science skills. Busan National University and Yonsei University will run an industry-linked engineering training project, supported by the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology. POSTECH and Chonnam National University were chosen to reform basic curricula and lab training with up to 13.5 billion won in support.

MSIT to expand global research talent recruitment, strengthen settlement support
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT will expand support to attract overseas science and technology talent. The ministry said it selected new projects for its 2026 Overseas Outstanding Scientist Attraction Programme (BP/BP+) under the \"Brain to Korea\" initiative. The initiative aims to recruit 2,000 global talents by 2030. The selection includes 85 individual-recruitment projects and 5 institutional-recruitment projects, with support for costs such as salaries, stay expenses and research funding.
