Nums AI raises 4 billion won to speed tabular foundation model development
Nums AI, which develops a Tabular Foundation Model for structured data, said on July 20 it has raised its first investment worth 4 billion won. Stonebridge Ventures led the round, with participation from SBVA, KT Investment and Base Ventures. The company said its model can cover tasks such as demand forecasting, anomaly detection and credit assessment with a single model, and plans to expand GPU infrastructure and its research organization.

MSIT selects lead universities to drive innovation in STEM education
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity selected lead institutions for two university education innovation programmes to strengthen science and engineering students\' practical problem-solving and basic maths and science skills. Busan National University and Yonsei University will run an industry-linked engineering training project, supported by the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology. POSTECH and Chonnam National University were chosen to reform basic curricula and lab training with up to 13.5 billion won in support.

Science ministry to run Engineering Week for girls to support STEM career exploration
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Foundation for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology will hold engineering career-experience events for middle and high school girls during the summer vacation period. The 2026 Girls in Engineering Week will run from July 18 to 31 at 11 universities nationwide. Programs include hands-on activities, special lectures and mentoring online and offline, with region-specific tours and contests. Participation is free.
