The National Research Foundation of Korea said on Tuesday it appointed Kim Soo-young (김수영), a professor at Korea University’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering, as head of the Nano and Materials Division under its National Strategic Research Division.

As division head, Kim will oversee tasks including evaluation management of support programmes in the division’s remit commissioned by the government, project planning, proposals for mid- to long-term development plans and policy formulation and advice, budget allocation plans, progress checks and promoting the use of results, analysis of research demand, technology forecasting and research trends, and external cooperation.

Kim’s term runs for 2 years from Sept. 28.
