Lotte has standardised its hiring schedule to let applicants prepare in advance. Lotte said on Aug. 31 it will start what it called "predictable rolling recruitment" from next month, setting hiring periods by affiliate in March, June, September and December. Fifteen affiliates including Lotte Department Store, Lotte Wellfood, Lotte Construction and Lotte Innovate will take part. The group will hire hundreds of new staff across more than 50 roles including sales, marketing, R&D and AI.

Lotte is focusing on securing talent to lead the group’s shift to AI. Lotte Innovate and Lotte Construction, which are participating in this recruitment round, plan to hire AI specialists in areas including natural language, visual and speech processing, and R&D, the company said.

Lotte will hold job fairs at 12 universities nationwide from next month through Sept. 8, including Seoul National University, Sungkyunkwan University, Yonsei University, Sogang University, Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) and Korea University. Twenty affiliates including Lotte Wellfood, Lotte Mart and Super, Lotte Property and Development, Lotte Hotel, Lotte Biologics and Lotte Construction will take part to introduce their companies and provide job and role consultations. Employees who joined through various recruitment tracks will also be on site to share the hiring process and tips for passing with job seekers.

Lotte will also broaden its recruitment outreach to young people in regions. Lotte Energy Materials and Lotte Fine Chemical will hold job fairs at UNIST and Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) to seek local science and engineering talent. Lotte Department Store plans to visit regional hub universities in Chungcheong, Honam and Yeongnam to hold recruitment briefings to support hiring of local youth.

A Lotte official said, "We will secure talent in various fields including AI, as well as sales and marketing." The official added, "We will widen our points of contact with young talent nationwide and continue to discover talent that will lead the group."
