NCSoft loses appeal in copyright suit against Kakao Games over ArcheAge War
NCSoft lost again on appeal in a copyright infringement lawsuit against Kakao Games over the mobile MMORPG ArcheAge War, which it said copied its game Lineage2M. The Seoul High Court rejected NCSoft\'s appeal on March 12. The court said it was difficult to view the plaintiff\'s game as a work with distinct creativity and individuality, and cited public-domain elements in claims of unfair competition.

Gravity Game Vision recruits CBT participants for \'Ragnarok Origin Classic\'
Gravity said its Hong Kong subsidiary Gravity Game Vision is recruiting participants for a closed beta test of its new MMORPG \'Ragnarok Origin Classic\'. Gravity Game Vision said it will select 5,000 people across nine regions, including South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and Southeast Asia, through Feb. 25. The test will include 14 classic jobs and the Doram race, and will use an Asia-wide integrated server. The company will also provide coupons and run community programs to gather feedback.

Gravity to expand beyond \'Ragnarok\' with new IP and publishing push
Gravity is seeking to boost competitiveness by strengthening capabilities across business segments. The company said it will use the Ragnarok intellectual property as a core pillar while securing new IP, strengthening publishing and expanding entertainment to build next-generation growth engines. It plans to diversify its portfolio with in-house titles and broaden its PC and console lineup. Gravity is also pursuing musicals, concerts, animation and a virtual YouTuber business.
