Gravity said on July 13 it has shifted to a co-CEO structure with Park Hyun-cheol (박현철) and Yoshinori Kitamura (기타무라 요시노리) to strengthen the competitiveness of its headquarters and pursue sustained future growth in global markets.
The appointments aim to establish a responsible management system based on each CEO's expertise. Park will oversee efforts to strengthen internal capabilities, including development, operations, organisational management and talent development at the South Korean headquarters. Kitamura will be responsible for global business strategy, intellectual property strategy, new businesses and cooperation with overseas group affiliates.
The company plans to clarify each co-CEO's responsibilities and authority through the overhaul to build a faster and more complete decision-making system. It also plans to make this year the first year of realising its mid- to long-term business vision of a "Ragnarok Hub". It plans to pursue the launch of major titles, exploration of new genres and an expansion in the scale of esports tournaments to strengthen corporate value and brand loyalty over the long term.
Gravity is rolling out one-source multi-use businesses using its IP, including games, merchandise, exhibitions, concerts and animation, as its flagship PC online massively multiplayer online role-playing game "Ragnarok Online" marks its 24th year of service this year. Since the start of the year, it has been expanding its business reach worldwide, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.
New Ragnarok IP-based titles include open-world MMORPG "RO: Legend of the Sunkyeong - World Jiryeo", roguelike battle royale mobile role-playing game "Ragnarok Endless Trails" and HTML5-based idle MMORPG "Ragnarok: Twilight". It has also recently opened the official Steam page for its "Ragnarok Console Project" and is preparing to expand to console platforms.
It is also expanding its new IP and indie game portfolio. It has diversified its lineup with MMORPG "Dragonica Origin", dark fantasy MMORPG "Requiem M", 3D platformer "Little Beings of the Abyss", turn-based RPG "Wiseman's World Retry" and family party game "Pororo Sports Festival". It is also participating in global offline events including "Hong Kong International Licensing Show 2026", "2026 PlayX4" and "2026 Licensing Expo" to discover and foster indie games.
A Gravity official said the shift to a co-CEO structure was pursued to secure stability in governance for the future and move in a clear direction as its global influence expands by the day. The official said the two co-CEOs will deliver responsible management and further advance the global business based on the resulting synergy.
