Major South Korean game companies are rolling out Chuseok holiday events in succession, using logins, missions and event dungeons. They are incorporating holiday themes such as songpyeon, the full moon and the moon rabbit into game content, and offering limited items and growth resources depending on logins and play during the holiday period.
Many events go beyond simple login rewards, with experience increases, hot-time periods, event-only dungeons and exchange shops to support users' play and character growth during the holidays.
Nexon is running Chuseok events across 16 titles it services. FC Online will provide BP and player packs based on cumulative login time from Sept. 24 to 27, and will hold a Chuseok burning event that gives a lucky pouch for logging in for 90 minutes. It will also offer additional rewards to PC cafe users.
MapleStory M will run a "Exciting Super Week" from Sept. 24 to Oct. 5 and operate various hot-time events during the holidays. In Mabinogi Mobile, songpyeon obtained through events can be exchanged for items such as a "Hangawi hanbok set shopping bag", and it will also give full-moon boxes that provide various growth resources through weekly missions. Maple Growing will present an event using lucky pouches and Chuseok foods with a goblin night market concept.
NC is running Chuseok events across eight titles it services. Aion 2 will provide "Hangawi Full Moon Coins" through attendance and event missions until before scheduled maintenance on Oct. 7. Users can exchange the coins for items including a goblin mask appearance and content passes, and in some dungeons the drop rate for stigma shards will increase by 200 percent.
Lineage M will run "Chuseok gourd smashing" and "Moon Rabbit's Treasure Box" events until before scheduled maintenance on Sept. 30, offering adena, coins and relic cards. Lineage W will operate the event dungeon "Banquet of the Full Moon" until Oct. 7 and will allow users to exchange currency obtained there for items including legendary transformation and magic doll challenge tickets.
Throne and Liberty (TL) will run the event "Exciting Hangawi, Fun Rice Cake Hunt!" until Oct. 6. During the event period, the appearances of the Mystic Glove and Mystic Portal change into lucky pouch forms, and users can receive additional rewards such as a "Craftsman's Songpyeon Box".
Netmarble is running Chuseok events across 11 titles. Mongil: STAR DIVE will hold a seven-day attendance event until Oct. 6, offering summon tickets and growth resources. Seven Knights Re:Birth will let users collect "Full Moon Songpyeon" through missions and exchange them for items including hero summon passes, and also introduced Chuseok-themed hanbok costumes.
Vampir will operate special attendance, the event dungeon "Forest of the Blue Full Moon", and growth support missions from Sept. 23 to Oct. 7. Raven2 will also open the event dungeon "Forest of the Full Moon" over the same period, offering reward items and buff foods. Fate/Grand Order will run a Chuseok login bonus, thank-you missions and pickup summons.
Com2uS is holding Chuseok events across seven titles including Summoners War: Sky Arena and the Com2uS Pro Baseball series. Summoners War will operate a "Chuseok Moon-Gazing Event" until Oct. 4, letting users complete missions with up to three party members to collect "moonlight fragments" and earn rewards including Light and Dark Scrolls and reappraisal stones.
Com2uS Pro Baseball V26 will open a Hangawi event shop until Oct. 7, allowing users to collect lucky pouches and songpyeon and exchange them for items including a signature card selection pack and an impact card selection pack. IMO will let users gather materials by hunting monsters to craft honey songpyeon and exchange them for items including an autumn festival card and a fallen-leaf headband. It will also run hot-time periods during the holidays that increase item acquisition rates.
Pearl Abyss is running an event in Black Desert Mobile in which users obtain "moonlight fragments" through attendance and content missions. If users collect moonlight fragments and grow the moon, they can receive growth items by stage, and an effect that increases combat experience by up to 15 percent also applies.
It also prepared an event that gives all participants 20,000 breakthrough restoration tickets if they leave a wish they want to make while looking at the full moon on the official forum. Alongside this, it will run a Chuseok special shop where users can obtain various items using silver coins and co-op points.
Neowiz is running events across eight PC and mobile titles including Cats & Soup, Pi-mang web board games, New Cheonsangbi and Slugger. Cats & Soup will provide a "grim reaper costume set" to users who simply log in from Sept. 24 to Oct. 4.
Slugger will triple experience gained and points earned in the point shop during the holiday period, and will operate songpyeon-making and yutnori events until Oct. 12. New Cheonsangbi will hold a "Hangawi Martial World Grand Festival" until Oct. 8 and provide a Hangawi gift set that includes a "hanbok guardian spirit". During the holiday period, it will also provide double experience and a special growth buff.
Five Pi-mang web board games will run a collaboration event with "Tazza: Song of Beelzebub". Users can use coins obtained through logging in to enter draws for prizes including pure gold and gift certificates, and can also receive additional rewards through game-specific missions and mini-games.
Mgame is holding Chuseok events across six titles including Yulgang Online, Knight Online, Hero Online, Ghost Online and Ghost Online M. Yulgang Online will let users carry out Chuseok-related commissions to earn experience and obtain the "Spirit Beast Moon Rabbit", which has effects that increase daemon attack power and experience gained.
Knight Online will run the "Bountiful Ancestral Rite Table" event, where users collect ingredients for Chuseok food to obtain songpyeon and other items, and will also operate yutnori content. At specific times, moon rabbits appear in large numbers, and blessings are granted to the nation that defeats more of them. Ghost Online M will run yutnori and attendance events, and will provide holiday login rewards and a 24-hour experience hot-time period.
Gravity is running events across five games based on the Ragnarok intellectual property. Ragnarok Online will give users who log in until Sept. 27 "Honey Songpyeon" that increases experience gained by 100 percent for 60 minutes, and will offer additional experience and increased item drop rates during the holiday period.
Ragnarok Zero will also hold a Chuseok burning event that increases experience and item drop rates. Ragnarok: Back to Glory will provide a Chuseok-limited social motion and headgear for logging in for seven consecutive days, and will also operate Chuseok content through which users can obtain limited mounts.
