Gravity said its Hong Kong unit Gravity Game Vision (GGV) is recruiting participants for a closed beta test (CBT) of its new massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) 'Ragnarok Origin Classic'.

On Feb. 9, GGV said it will select a total of 5,000 people across nine regions, including South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and Southeast Asia, through Feb. 25. Applications are available on the official Lounge and Facebook page.

'Ragnarok Origin Classic' is designed to minimise character development routes to reduce the burden of progression and focus on combat. The CBT will unveil 14 classic jobs and the Doram race. It features an Asia-wide integrated server that allows users to cooperate or compete with players from other countries.

The company also prepared benefits for participants. It will provide coupons to try a monthly pass in advance during the CBT period. It also plans to run a user co-creation programme on the official Lounge and Discord community to gather feedback and improve the game’s completeness.

Kim Jin-hwan (김진환), president of GGV, said, "We prepared the test to show a version and play style that reflect user opinions." He added, "It is an opportunity to be the first to experience the changes in Ragnarok Origin."

GGV is also running pre-registrations until the official launch. Participants will receive a rabbit-pack mount and a Majestic Goat head accessory after the formal launch.
