Webzen launches indie game Memoris on Steam and Epic Games Store
Webzen launched indie game \"Memoris: Forsaken by Light\" on global game platforms Steam and the Epic Games Store on April 28. The turn-based strategy RPG was developed by South Korean game studio Black Anchor and is published by Webzen. After early access in October 2023, the company overhauled combat and progression systems based on player feedback. The full version expands the main quest and adds four new characters.

Line Games replaces co-CEO, expands lineup to boost results
Line Games is reshaping its co-CEO structure and accelerating an expansion of its PC and mobile lineup. The company posted 33.5 billion won in 2025 revenue and an operating loss of 14.9 billion won, with revenue down 22 percent but the operating loss narrowing 7.5 percent, extending a two-year trend of shrinking deficits. It plans to unveil at least three PC titles this year and pursue multiple mobile releases and global launches.

Warning signs are mounting for small and midsize game developers in South Korea, with setbacks ranging from PixelTribe’s shutdown and bankruptcy to CloverGames’ corporate bankruptcy filing and a publishing dispute between Hound13 and Webzen. The cases share a fragile business model in which early monetisation failures quickly trigger reduced operations, cash squeezes and staff departures. A tougher funding climate, higher fixed labour costs and widening AI-driven productivity gaps with large developers are also adding pressure.
