Wemaide Connect will move to globally publish the new collectible subculture RPG "Oz (OZ)".
Wemaide Max said on Oct. 26 that its subsidiary Wemaide Connect signed a publishing contract with Superblock for "Oz". The game is in development, targeting release next year in South Korea, North America and Taiwan, among other markets.
"Oz" is a redeveloped title based on a subculture RPG released in the Japanese market in 2025. It keeps the existing world view and character assets, while overhauling key systems including combat, progression and the business model, and shifting direction toward a male-oriented subculture RPG.
The setting is the other world of "Maerhen", which has accepted Earth civilization. Users become the protagonist named as the reincarnation of the creator "Oz", build relationships with other heroes and progress through each character's story.
Combat uses an auto-battle format that draws on character affinities and skill combinations. It also plans to add new character-exclusive stories, player-versus-player battles and limited-time boss raids.
Wemaide Connect and Superblock will jointly handle development, service preparations and marketing. They plan to run user tests before the official launch to check game systems and content.
Wemaide Connect currently provides services including "Lost Sword" and "Make Drama: MAD". It will expand its subculture game lineup by adding "Oz".
Lee Ho-dae (이호대), chief executive of Wemaide Connect, said, "Based on the world view of 'Oz' and its character narratives, we will proceed with Superblock with development and service preparations."
