Samsung Electronics launches domestic EHS heat pump boiler in South Korea

Samsung Electronics launched its air-source, heat pump-based home heating solution, the EHS Heat Pump Boiler, in South Korea on April 20. The product uses ambient air heat and electricity to provide space heating and hot water, and can generate more than four times the heat of the input electrical energy, the company said. It can supply hot water up to 70 degrees Celsius at minus 15 degrees and includes anti-freeze features.

LG Electronics targets Asia-Pacific distributors with WashTower and subscription services

LG Electronics is stepping up its push into the Asia-Pacific market by highlighting a subscription business that combines products and care services. The company said it will hold LG InnoFest 2026 APAC in Busan for four days from April 7, inviting major distribution partners and media from about 20 countries. LG showcased new WashTower models and other laundry appliances, and said its subscription service now operates in five Asian countries.

Pump.fun leads pre-seed investment in chat-based prediction market startup Pumpcade

Meme coin platform Pump.fun led a $1 million pre-seed investment in Pumpcade, a startup that enables users to open prediction markets in livestream chat. The Block reported that Foundation Capital and angel investor Radiosolace also joined the round. Pumpcade plans to use the funding to expand engineering staff and accelerate market rollout, moving from private beta toward launch. It aims to offer an open beta in 2026.
