LG Electronics unveiled its new commercial system air conditioner, the 'LG Multi V 7', for the first time. LG Electronics said on Oct. 21 it showcased the product at the Korea International HVAC & Refrigeration Expo, 'HARFKO 2026', held at KINTEX in Ilsan.

Multi V 7 is a VRF system air conditioner, a large-capacity type that controls refrigerant flow by connecting multiple indoor units to one outdoor unit. It applies dual AI, a new compressor and a new design.

Dual AI combines on-device AI and cloud AI built into the product. The on-device AI learns the installation environment and usage patterns in real time to determine the operating method. The cloud AI improves performance and stability through analysis and adjustments to operating strategies. The two AIs work together to enable AI autonomous operation that runs by itself in response to environmental changes, the company said. 'AI Smart Care' analyses virtual operating scenarios to propose an operating cycle that considers both comfort and energy efficiency. It also has noise control and failure prediction and diagnosis functions.

The compressor, which compresses refrigerant, uses LG Electronics' new technology 'SpinX'. LG Electronics said it changed the compressor structure and added a two-way oil supply structure and a real-time oil condition detection function. It said heating and cooling performance, energy efficiency and operating stability improved compared with existing products. The exterior design was also changed. Multi V 7 was shown for the first time at the exhibition.

The exhibition hall was arranged in the form of an actual home with an outdoor-unit room, utility room, living room and bathroom. There, it introduced a residential solution that links cooling, heating and hot water for the entire home with a single heat pump. A heat pump is a device that heats or cools indoors by moving heat. It showcased solutions centred on heat pump cooling, heating and hot-water systems for apartment complexes tailored to the domestic residential environment.

In the AI data centre exhibition area, it presented chillers and fan wall units, which are air-cooling facilities. A chiller is a cooler that produces large amounts of cold water, and this chilled water is widely used for both air cooling and liquid cooling in data centres. A fan wall unit supplies cold air into a data centre and exhausts heat.

In the liquid-cooling segment, it introduced a coolant distribution unit (CDU), which distributes coolant water toward servers, and cold plates that directly absorb heat from chips. It also displayed an immersion-cooling solution that cools servers by immersing them in coolant and an immersion tank under development.

Lee Jae-sung (이재성), head of LG Electronics' ES Business Division and president, said, "We will continue to expand advanced solutions based on CoreTech, a differentiated parts competitiveness, across all areas that require cooling solutions, from home to commercial, industrial and AI data centres."
