With altcoins showing renewed strength, XRP is again being discussed as a key variable in this cycle.

On Sept. 30, blockchain outlet The Crypto Basic reported that veteran trader Cryptollica said there is no altseason without XRP and presented a long-term bullish scenario.

Cryptollica published a long-term chart of XRP against the dollar and projected price action through 2027 based on patterns seen since 2017. The key is whether XRP can break above its current downtrend line.

On the two-week chart, XRP hit about $3.60 in 2025 and has remained in a downtrend with lower highs and lower lows. The $3.60 level is a key resistance that also aligns with the 2018 peak. The current downtrend line has come down to around the recent trading range of $1 to $1.40. A long-term support line connecting past major lows has also held, and the analysis said the direction could be decided where the two trend lines converge.

The most important area is the breakout path ahead. On the chart, XRP could first break out of the current downtrend and rise to the $3 resistance level. It could then climb to around $7 before a pullback to about $4.50, and ultimately reach around $15, it said. That would imply a roughly 10-fold rise from current levels.

The market has not yet placed XRP at the center of the altcoin surge. XRP rose from about $1.24 on Sept. 16 to around $1.66 on Sept. 23, and traded around $1.50 on Sept. 30. A recent rebound has been confirmed, but the move has still been limited compared with other altcoins.

That trend also aligns with a shift in broader market sentiment. Cryptollica viewed XRP as playing an important role as crypto market sentiment tilts toward altcoins and concerns about a bear market weaken. The Altcoin Season Index stood at 62 at the time. It was below 75, which is often seen as a signal of a broad altseason, but the improvement was large compared with 40 in August.

Recent surges in some altcoins also supported that mood. Over the past month, Quant (QNT) gained more than 375 percent and Ethena (ENA) rose 225 percent, while Zcash (ZEC) climbed 218 percent over the past few weeks. Uniswap (UNI), Near (NEAR), Arbitrum (ARB) and the meme coin PUMP also showed strength. By contrast, XRP has not yet joined that rally.

XRP, however, has precedent for sharp short-term gains. From November 2024 to January 2025, it surged about 600 percent, and in July 2025 it rose to about eight times its November 2024 level, surpassing the 2018 peak. Cryptollica said those precedents mean XRP's upside potential should not be judged low based only on its recent sluggishness.

Over the past 90 days, XRP has risen 39 percent. It has lagged other surging altcoins, but the market has not completely ruled out a return of the kind of sharp volatility seen in the past. XRP also jumped 82 percent in August, rising from $0.93 to $1.70 in four days. If broader altcoin strength continues, whether XRP joins the move late remains the next point to watch.
